Fire and Emergency File

In the context of the UK, a fire and emergency file, also known as a "Fire Safety Information Pack" or simply "Fire File," is a document or set of documents that contains essential information about the fire safety features and procedures within a building. It is a requirement associated with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (commonly referred to as the Fire Safety Order or RRO). The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 is the primary piece of legislation governing fire safety in non-domestic premises in England and Wales.

The fire and emergency file plays a vital role in ensuring that building occupants, employees, and emergency responders have access to the information they need to respond effectively to fires and other emergencies. It should be kept up-to-date, easily accessible, and readily available for inspection by relevant authorities.
